EWE Spirit Foundation

Meredith Collins is pleased to join the Ewe Spirit team. She has been sailing since the age of 5.  As a child her family spent their summers living on a boat, sailing and participating in junior sailing on Barnegat Bay, NJ.  She originally hails from Lavalette YC in NJ where she first learned to sail. Meredith has been a leader in both community boating programs and sailing clubs in New England and New Jersey.   She is a two time All-American Sailor and graduate of the University of Rhode Island Education Program. While at URI Meredith sailed with Geoff in many collegiate regattas and they became good friends. After college they continued sailing together in team racing events.

As a young adult Meredith sailed in many one design classes.  She competed for the US in two International 420 World Championships.  She has also competed in the Vanguard 15 class, Shields, Lightnings, Snipe, and the E-Scow class. She has managed sailing programs and was the Sailing Program Director for an NBYA sailing program for 10 years. She spent over 10 years teaching in public and private schools in New England. Meredith is also an active member of her church community and enjoys swimming, paddleboarding and sailing with her family to local spots in New England. She is currently the Operations Manager for Clagett Sailing in RI.
